Unauthorized knock-off ?
This appears to be an unauthorized, printed in India knock-off of the authentic university text book which is a U.S. publication.

Ghost in the vineyards
We have successfully used these (in white) in our small vineyards at Westbrook Wine Farm to not only help keep birds at bay but other vertebrate pests, as well. We run them 24/7 for about 90 days. Our only criticism of these "Vineyard Ghosts" is that the material only lasts for one season at this rate before developing holes in the material. At nearly $50 a copy, I would think the manufacturer could use a little stronger material. Planned obsolescence? We would also like to see flexible iridescent Mylar hair and fingers to increase bird confusion. We will continue to use them because they work but they could be improved upon.
