Great solution for multi-room audio
This unit is a great solution for a multi-location audio setup. I have speakers in the house, garage, yard, and patio all hooked to the unit. This lets me adjust the volume for each location. Note: the volume control is attenuation only, i.e. this unit does not contain amplifiers (Russound does make an amplified version, at a higher price). So you hook up your amplifier speaker outlet to this unit, then feed up to 4 speaker sets. You can then adjust the volume by turning up the amplifier volume for the loudest location with the Russound volume all the way up for that set of speakers, then turn down the volume on the Russound for the other locations to the desired volumes. The punch buttons to turn a set of speakers off/on are very clean - no pops or clicks.
