Standard Dell power supply
Exactly like the one that came with the laptop, only brand new.

Great to have on the shelf
A great reference for any Dr. Who fan.

Works fairly well on an HP machine
3 of 3 found this helpful I bought it to try on an HP Spectre because of the freaky high prices for powered HP docks.. It does work, but it has some quirks after the computer sleeps. You basically just have to restart it. I have found that the best course of action is to turn the computer off when you need to walk away for more than 15 minutes. The computer is blazing fast so it starts in about 15 seconds. If you do this, it works perfectly all the time, every time. Also, the power button on the dock won't control the power of the computer. That feature is reserved for Dell laptops only. This forces me to leave the laptop lid open all the time because HP laptops will not power up with the lid shut. As a plug and play, one cable system, this does work. It replicates all of the ports properly (with idiosyncrasies) and it does fully power the laptop, freeing my adapter for use elsewhere. All in all, this $43 solution is much better than a $300 dock from HP that has problems of its own.
