You get what you pay for I guess. The threads connecting two pieces of the column together were stripped within 5 minutes of having it out of the box. Now its held together with tape...maybe I can epoxy the joint at some point. Pay a little more and get a lamp with higher quality materials.

Sturdy and long lived, but heavy

Well made and sturdy, and holds a charge for a very long time. The textured case is good for carrying. My only issue is the total weight. The idea was to use the iPad as a laptop substitute, but with this cover and keyboard it weighs as much as my lightweight laptop.
