works but it does not have a 'power' button- i.e. an on/off switch. I have to physically turn the unit on and then I can manipulate the remote.

It WORKS. Most of the time when i order electronics on eBAY, the items are shipped but they rarely 'WORK'. the 'no' in terms of easy to program- means that this 'remote' is not something you can 'program'.
