Perfect for broadcasting around the house
I am self employed and work from my home. I listen to something all day and instead of wiring the entire house for sound, I purchased a CCrane FM transmitter several years ago to spread the sound. It was difficult finding an available frequency and even then, I would get constant interference - sometimes from stations very far away. My house is small - 1,000 sf - so it was very frustrating. I put up with it for many years before recently searching again, and finding this transmitter. I LOVE IT!! No interference anywhere in my house, yet it also does not interfere with the nearby local stations. The 1 watt power setting is plenty, and I also did not extend the antenna. I did not have any problems with hum or feedback. The fan noise is loud and it was amplified by sitting on the wooden entertainment center. Finally got smart today and set the unit on a small rubber pad, which has greatly reduced the noise. The setup is a little odd, especially the upper and lower frequency. Wondering if I set a range, would it broadcast in that range? In any case, I set the upper and lower to the same frequency and have had no trouble. I would love to have a place and excuse to crank up the power and really test it out, but that might make the neighbors cranky! Since I paid about $50 for the CCrane unit, this seems like a fabulous value to me. Well worth it!
