Star Raiders, Atari 2600, overlay, video touchpad & manual

One of the best space shooters out there!

Star Raiders has always been a thrill to play for me personally. It was and is a great take on making a space shooter with more than usual depth in gameplay. The gamepad was a brilliant way for Atari to overcome the one-button controls and you actually felt like you were using a control panel to activate shields, etc. It is a shame that there weren't many carts to take advantage of the controller style. If anyone wants to pick up a copy of Star Raiders, I suggest they also find a keypad controller and manual, as the game is almost unplayable without the keypad and an understanding of what the extra buttons do.

Holy shnikes, it's awesome!!!!

OMG! This has to be the greatest underrated game in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!! I purchased it for my 7 year old cousin, but before giving it to her I wanted to make sure it played, etc. Was I surprised! I now have a full set of glamorous puppies of my own and she will be waiting for me to buy another copy, as this is now resting on a pedestal in a self-made shrine to all things Glam and Groom.
