I'm happy with the purchase
This the second Doro 618 I've bought from eBay for an older relative. Got it about half the price of a new one. It is easy to use, has good battery life, has good volume, and has big buttons and a very easy-to-read display. Makes it perfect for older folks who need a cell phone but can't see or hear well.

I'm Impressed So Far
I recently bought this unit after doing a lot of research -- I have a mix of NIMH battery sizes. So far, I've been discharging/charging my older AA and AAA batteries. The unit works as advertised, and the batteries seem to be performing well. I'll be doing C, D, and 9V sizes soon but I expect they'll work just fine. Unit is easy to use and the display is simple and informative. I'll give it 5 stars if it does my other battery sizes as well as it does my AA/AAA cells.

Works as Advertised and Saves Money
2 of 2 found this helpful Used this device to replace a major carrier landline which had a base cost of $40/month without long distance or any calling features like voicemail. Perversely, my neighbors 4 miles down the road were not within my "local" calling zone and I incurred long distance charges whenever I needed to talk to them. The replacement cell phone line used with this device was an add-on cellular line from a relative's account for an extra $15/month which included unlimited minutes to all 50 states within the U.S. Now I call anywhere and everywhere, and I have voicemail and Caller ID on some cordless phones which I connected to this device. Better service, more features, and 60% cheaper -- I'll take it!
