PS2 Hokuto no Ken Shinpanno Sousousei Kengou Retsuden Fist of the North Star
    Sep 09, 2019
The ultimate fist of the north star game!!!
Now this game on it's own merit is a pretty good game as far as graphics and fighting games in general go. But in some aspects like some of its music for example, the main opening theme comes straight out of the cartoon series played only in Japan during the early mid to late 80s I believe will only appeal to hardcore fans who remember this particular anime show. It takes the main gameplay mechanics of the guilty gear system and gives them the ultimate fist of the north star makeover. So what you have is a game that plays like guilty gear pretty much but looks like fist of the north star aka hokutonoken....and I couldn't be happier. The controls are a bit tight I must admit but once you acclimate it will not be an issue. The music for each stage is pretty awesome as well...but playing this game I can see why it has never seen a U.S. release and may only appeal to hardcore fans. I think that if they change the opening music theme and one or two of the tracks in the actual fighting stages it will be a certain success for sure given the welcome received by the Kens Rage series. For some people who may say it's too obscure of a hokutonoken game to be accepted as a successful American release...one would only need to look no further than the relative appeal and success of the Kens Rage games and see that this game would do very well with the expanded fan base of that universe and its characters to see that beyond doubt that it would do good if released here in the states. This game is so good that it can most definitly hold it's own against pretty much any 2D fighting game out there:)
