Battery is fickle
1 of 1 found this helpful I have no idea what the quality is like because it never turned on. When I look through the device manager, I can see the audible books I loaded on, so the cable works and the player can load information on. I looked up suggestions for "won't turn on" for this Philllips MP3 player and nothing worked, and I realized there are problems others have had with it (even new) not ever turning on. When I gave up and finally complained, I was told to charge it for 24 hrs (I charged it 36 hrs) and it still doesn't turn on. When I plug it in, the screen lights up and it says it is beginning to charge, but a second look you see the status battery icon is not charging.
I gave my husband a similar Phillips MP3 player and it worked fine and the quality was good, but if it is going to be so unpredictable, perhaps another brand is best to turn to.
