Great product concept that cannot be assembled as shipped.
1 of 1 found this helpful Received the product to be given as birthday gift for my elderly god-mother with some vision issues who loves to read and do crossword puzzles. The product is EXACTLY what she needs. However, it requires "minor" assembly of the base to the bottom of the flexible neck attached to the light / magnifier. The flexible neck has a sleeve that is supposed to slide over an upright tube in the base and a set screw then installs into the threaded hole. The sleeve was of poor quality with a poor fit and would not slide all the way down over the upright tube. Since the product was needed the next day for the birthday celebration, I disassembled the unit and modified the components in my shop to work, rather than return it. Most consumers wouldn't or couldn't have done this without appropriate tools (more than screwdriver, wrench & hammer). Even after enabling the sleeve to correctly slide into position, the set screw would not align with the threaded hole. I don't know whether this one was a quality anomaly, but I would not recommend this product based on my experience. Typical example of the questionable quality and poor workmanship I've experienced in so many imported (Brand Name) products that are being foisted onto consumers now. I would have gladly paid a reasonable price for MADE IN AMERICA, if something were available!!!
