Amazing cover album. Great song selection. Unless you're a poser.
Slayer's cover album happens to be 80's punk rock and thrash gems. Not 70's or 80's arena freedom rock. That alone makes this record awesome. The speed, intensity, and attitude of Slayer could have only come from punk rock and its good to see them shed some light and this often underrated genre. The originals of these songs were good, now they're just faster and more pissed off. Bands covered include: Verbal Abuse, Minor Threat, D.I., Dr. Know, TSOL, D.R.I., the Stooges, plus GBH and Suicidal Tendencies on the import versions. If you're a Slayer fan or a fan of punk rock, this is a no-brainer.

Can’t get much better than this
0 of 1 found this helpful This red dot is very easy to sight in and stays accurate. The design and performance of it are second to none especially for the price. I like the fact that it is easy to get to the battery and the adjustments are simple but work. Lastly, it is built like a tank (very strong construction).

Better Luck, the Plugz
This is the second LP by the L.A. Chicano punk band, the Plugz. Although this album is less straight forward punk and a little more mainstream sounding, it still shows that great songwriting and catchy hooks the Plugz were known for. This came out originally in 1981 (I was 4 when this originally came out) and to be honest, I find myself listening to this album a lot more than many of the records from that era. Songs like Achin', Red Eye #9, and Shifting Heart just stick in your head while The Wait and Better Luck almost hypnotize you. Also El Clavo Y La Cruz was featured in the movie, Repo Man (which was my introduction to them, I've been a fan ever since) and this reissue on Restless does the original LP justice. It's just too bad this isn't in print anymore but I have seen it for download on a number of blogspots so start searching.
