Good counter, but about 30 years old
I got one at a flea market that was defective. I removed the batteries (corrosion and damage to unit). Downloaded the manual and went to work. There is a 10,000 mfd cap that supplies the 5 volts, it is usually bad. Sub with another cap, around 4700 will work. Apply 5 volts across the cap and unit should power-up. If not, troubleshoot from there. I got 2 units and both had leaked batteries and a bad 10,ooo cap. The non-portable unit has a better bench power supply and that is the preferred purchase.

I use it to test power supplies under loads. It gives me all the information about load handling.
