The TYT 220 MHz radio is a mixed bag
The TYT 220 MHz radio is a mixed bag. RF wise it's a good radio, works well and sound good both tx and rx. Mechanically it's well built. However the programming is not intuitive and takes a lot of book study. For that mater, the book needs to be re-written by a HAM from the USA. The big challenge is they break. Two of my previous TYT radios locked up in software and there is no fix i could find on line and the customer service seems nonexistent.
The bad news is. 220 Radios are hard to come by. It's a gamble if the radio will work for a long time. But there are few alternatives if you are a 220 enthusiast.
