Timeless Classic Disney Animation
This Walt Disney classic goes back to my fondest memories from childhood. As a child, I had a set of 78 rpm Disney records telling the story of "Johnny Appleseed" and played them until worn. It was wonderful to see the original classic animation on this DVD that went with it. The character voices were provided by Dennis Day. There are seven other animated musical shorts on this DVD. "Bumble Boogie" is a very upbeat jazz version of "The flight of the bumble bee". There is the story of "Pecos Bill", and many other delightful stories. The musical talents in these classics include Roy Rogers, and the Andrew Sisters. This is family entertainment at it's best in my opinion. Kids will love the animation, Adults like me enjoy the memories of a bygone era when music, animation, and classic stories were Disney's mainstay.

Riveting, yet humorous, EXCELLENT Sci-Fi. Must See!
Originally I rented this movie because the advertising at the time made it seem quit interesting to a Sci-Fi lover like me. When I watched the bonus features, I found that it was a movie based on the short-lived TV series "Firefly". Since I enjoyed the movie, I decided to check out the series, which I also rented. I loved it so much I purchased the entire 15 episode series by Josh Whedon. It, of course, would not be complete without the movie "Serenity". This is why I purchased the movie, and continue to enjoy it. You don't have to watch the series to enjoy the movie. However, I strongly recommend watching the series first, the movie will have a great deal more depth. This series is much like the "space-cowboy" type concept that Gene Roddenberry first pitched Star Trek to be, but even more so. The Actors do a superb job of making their characters believable, Nathan Fillion plays the rouge ship captain of the Serenity. There are also a couple of very attractive ladies playing important role in the movie, a further incentive to watch this one. If you love Star Trek, Star Wars, etc., you will probably love this one as well. However, if you like westerns, cowboy or outlaw movies, you will also enjoy this one.

Wall-E, a new classic
Wall-E is the lastest Pixar masterpiece to come from Disney pictures. It not only features some of the best computer animation I've seen yet, but has a charming story with a moral to it. Unlike many animated movies, the story is quite unique, taking place in the future, a future we'd be wise to avoid. I originally viewed this via Netflix. I loved it so much that I had to purchase it, not something I do very often. I have watched it several times since, and every time I catch some interesting detail I missed the time before. I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this movie, young or old.
