I grew up using Eagle Claw snelled hooks. They were great 60 years ago and still are.

Eagle Blah

The pole is the best part of this set, but I did add an eyelet on the handle half of the pole. Although Eagle Claw is known for its quality, the reel does not fit into that category. The rubber worms and other "gummy fish munchies" are worthless and only cause an issue with the vacuum cleaner and inside of the box after getting warm. I am an Eagle Claw fan but marked this set as recommendable only because of the pole, but it too needed some help.
