Great price for what you get. Has a few issues but works fairly good.
4 of 4 found this helpful For the price you can't beat it. Needs better instructions for adjustment. I would not suggest using the wall fitting that comes with it if you are replacing a Polaris. Use the Polaris fitting and attach the hose to it. This gives you the option to use restrictor plates and the overall wall fitting is better. The hose is almost reason enough to buy this unit. It is an excellent hose and contains all the floats and swivels you need. That is worth at least 1/2 of the cost of this unit in itself. The first drawback though does start with the hose and is not limited to this hose as I have had some Polaris hoses act the same way when new. When you try to attach the hose to the top of the unit you might find it near impossible to actually cut a thread into the hose so until the hose loses it's sheen due to chemicals you will likely need to leave it on there buy force of friction. Maybe a good wire tie. That leads me to the 2nd issue. The tail. This comes with a nice perfectly good tail and an apparently week clip. The clip disappeared never to be seen again within a week. Had to wire tie it on. Unit also seems to be overly hungry for it's own tail. Have had to rescue the tail from throat and bag a couple of times. Probably means they used a hose that is too supple for a tail. Not sure how to fix that other than maybe replacing it with an actual Polaris tail. Don't worry about the Polaris backup. Drain it and put it away. This unit has backup built in. Sometimes spends too much time in backup mode.
Performance is a bit subpar compared to a Polaris 180 in terms of wall climbing. My unit won't come all the way up a wall. I guess the good side of that though is it's not spraying everyone randomly. I don't like the double wall bag as it's hard to empty. Only a moderate improvement on a 180 bag in catch rate. Still prefer panty hose over any Polaris bag.
Overall I do recommend it just be aware of it's quirks.

1 of 1 found this helpful Item pictured is not what you are buying. This is a charger that plugs directly to a drill. Not a battery charger. Honestly I should have done more checking and read description closer. See below for accurate pic. The item is fine just not what I expected.

Good Product overall. Easy to install and comes with everything you need. Lid is a serious issue though.
The kit comes with everything you need and you will have a few fittings left over that may come in handy later. Toss the Teflon tape that comes with it. It is a super thin low quality Teflon (dollar store quality) go to plumbing supply store and buy some good Teflon tape or Teflon liquid you will thank me later.
Product has one major issue. The lid gets super-tight during operation. Even after removing the center plug I had to resort to a slip joint plier to remove the lid in order to change the tablets. Be prepared to anchor this to the ground given the difficulty of removing that lid. Next time I change tablets I am going to try a bit of marine grease to see if the lid will come off easier. As it sits unless the lube works I can't recommend it unless you have someone burly that can wrestle that lid off of there.
As far as the actual installation and operation of it this is pretty easy to set up and works fine. The dial is super cheap so don't expect too many seasons out of it but given how inexpensive the unit is you can afford to replace it. The Rainbow units are known for their durability either and I have had issues getting the caps off of those too but they are way more expensive so it's a six of one half a dozed of another issue.
Overall if you need a chlorine feeder this will work if you can manage the cap. 70 years old living on your own with nobody to help you with it. Would pass.
