Must have for long action Savage rifles
This extended base is an absolute must for long action Savage rifles. The quality and finish are great. I use just a drop of lock tite on the screws and have never had an issue with them coming loose. Only thing that I would change would be torx head screws

It works OK, but
The magazine works after some tinkering. This isn't the first time I have had to work on a savage rim fire magazine to get it to work properly, so I kind of expected this. Bottom line is, if you aren't inclined to work on the magazine to get it to work properly, you should probably stick to the five rounders. Also I feel 20-30$ for one of these is kind of expensive.
