However, I received no notification of delivery & the shop initially couldn’t find the item so I eventually requested a refund which eBay promptly paid. Waltle5 then sent me screenshots of their proof of delivery which, after repeated visits to Royal Mail & the collection shop, eventually produced the item, so I’ve requested a refund reversal.

Nice instrument, sweet sound, easy to play.
Initially i was very disappointed with this Setar as i thought there was something wrong with it as some of the notes on the fretboard were off, too high, and i was very disappointed and planned to return it and brought another one, (a Nava, which is also very good) but then when comparing it with the Nava one, i realised it was not faulty but the tied string frets were slightly not in the right place and when i adjusted them it was perfectly in tune. And also there are a lot of microtones in persian music meaning there are 3 or 4 notes in between the main, straight notes, rather than just one, like on a guitar, that sound quite jarring to the western ear.
It is a lovely instrument that looks good and plays well and has a really pleasant sweet tone. It's also very easy to play in that you strum 3 of the 4 strings open and only fret one or at most two of the strings. It took a few weeks to arrive whereas the Nava one (from a different company) amazingly arrived in 3 days to UK from Turkey!
