I play this game about an hour a day. I started my first game on March 25, it is now May 7 and I'm about 80% of the way through. So if you're only a fan of quick hitting action games, then don't buy this game. However, if you like strategy, problem solving, and 'Civilization' type games, then this one is a keeper. It's an interesting game that I will probably pull out once a year or so, and play it for a month, month and a half, like I have this time.
It's not perfect. There is plenty of room for more intricacy and detail. And with no story and no stated goal I'm afraid I will be left feeling a bit incomplete when my time expires. But overall I recommend this game to fans of this genre.

Katamari is a fun game
It's a fun game. I put it in planning to play for 10 minutes and usually end up playing 20. I don't know why it sucks you in like it does, but for some reason I care that that little funny shaped character rolls up all those random things. If you go into it with the right attitude (just expecting a good time, orginial game, with some werid japanesse stuff. and not an epic adventure with cutting edge graphics) then you'll reall enjoy this game. My mom and sister even enjoyed playing it a little bit.

Kinda boring
I like RPGs, both single player and MMO. They're probably my favorite genre. This one had some nice things along the RPG line, like choosing the way your character developed was fun and interesting. The best RPG quality of The Witcher is the quest, they seem real and authentic. It's like the people that assign the quest to you are in the world with you and actually care about the outcome.
But those qualities, along with a good story, weren't enough to keep me engaged. The two big turn offs were running between one location and another (just took a bit to long) and the fighting. The fighting was horrible and boring. It's just clicking on the bad guy in a bit of a rhythm. But it's hard to keep your cursor on the enemy and after 3 or 4 minutes it's already old. It's tedious, and quite frankly, lousy.
This is also the reason I didn't like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. So if you liked that game, then you might like this one too. If you're into a little more button mashing and decision making then stick with WOW and the Final Fantasy series.
