Upgrade for old Jeep Engines
5 of 5 found this helpful Dropped a set of these into my YJ when I freshened the 4L engine. The difference wasn't just noticeable, it was remarkable. I'd been driving it steady for three weeks, and am very happy with them; I didn't know a Jeep 4.0 would run that smooth.. These aren't a 1 to 1 package replacement for the old injectors; the old ones had a clip holding them in position in the fuel rail, which the new injectors wouldn't accept. They float captive between the rail and the manifold with very little movement, and the clips didn't prevent the old injectors from rotating, so I can't see that it makes much difference. Also, the new ones came with a screen on the end of the injector which would not fit into the intake manifold on my jeep. They didn't look like a filter screens since they weren't actually in the path of the fuel. I took them off, made sure nothing was obstructed, and ran them that way...it worked fine. As I said, that old engine just purrs.
