Better than original

Much better than the all plastic originals which break early and often. Build quality is great and one of my coolers has many years of trouble free operation with these hybrid latches. Unfortunately, Igloo ships many coolers with the plastic latches which you will soon need to replace. When you replace latches, don't even think of buying the same white plastic junk unless you are going to give the cooler away to your mother-in-law after the repair.
