As modified in the style of Paul Sellers
I learned from Mr. Sellers to use these in my face vise to elimnate the need for bench dogs/dogging system tools.
I modified just as he teaches in a YouTube video. This includes replacing the slip-on caps by peening the lever ends*, cleaning up the threads, cleaning up rough casting edges inside the clamp slides, fitting the tubing with a wooden insert, and padding the jaws. Just like most anything from any mass-manufacturer, mods make things work better for most applications.
*Mine came with acorn caps (threaded maybe) so I haven't peened the ends, but will if the nuts work loose and linseed oil (my threadlocker of preference) won't fix it.
I'll buy more of these, and tweak them as well.

Fast, firm, and the perfect amount of grip. My new absolute favorite pick.
Love the Ultex feel and the grip is perfect, not too much-not too little. The first time I touched Ultex to a string I knew it was special, then I tried the Primetone and wow what a grip, not too grippy but just right for my sense of feel. It's very easy to let this pick "float" for rhythm and yet have a great firmness for single notes and picking. I got lucky and found both of these in a variety pack. I have ordered more. They are that good. I also like the Jim Dunlop's Tortex over celluloid, but Ultex is slicker and quicker-Primetone brings it all together. My experience is with .88 and 1.14 Tortex, 1.0 Ultex, and .96 Primetone. The .96 Gator is good too, but it's Tortex (Delrin).
Only one complaint--they're so dark you'll never find a dropped one at night. If they ever make these in a brighter color, I'll be ordering a dozen.

Delrin and thickness options make the Tortex a winner.
It's a nice pick. I was ready to move to a thicker pick and the Tortex is available in three levels of "heavy" pick, .88, 1.0, and 1.14 mm. I'd used .73/medium celluloid for years. Now I only want to use the .88 Tortex (Delrin). It was my first purchase of any Delrin picks and I'm glad I did. I now have a favorite ever pick to go along with my favorite ever strings. Now to work on the notes...
