Fits Ford / Mercury / Lincoln Door Lock Actuator Solenoid - PAIR
    May 14, 2016
    Fixed my 1997 Ford F-150
This is a challenging repair but so worth it. The actuators look very similar to the original Ford factory actuators and they fit perfectly. There is a selection of rods included. You will only need the one specific to your model. For the F-150 you want that longest rod. I was worried that having the same model number actuator for both left and right doors wasn't going to work, but it did just fine. The key is to be patient and take it slowly. Don't force anything, and avoid breaking tabs off of switch sockets etc. On the 1997 F-150 the actuator is held into the door by a very strong metal bracket that grips it on both inner and outer sides. There are cylindrical bosses on both sides of the actuator that latch into holes in the metal bracket. You cannot remove the metal bracket from the door, so this needs to be done by feel. It took me a long time to realize how that bracket works. You must first take the pushrod loose from the joint where it connects to the locking mechanism (top). Then be sure to loosen the window track bolts from the door frame to have room to maneuver the actuator free. Feel down in there for the rectangular metal bracket. Use a screwdriver to gently pry the bracket away from the actuator (towards the outside). You have to pry enough to get the actuator's bosses free of the holes in the bracket. Get the outer side free first, and then tilt the actuator to clear the other one. As you then lift the old actuator out, be ready with a screwdriver to gently pry the tab on the wiring socket so that it can be pulled free. Lift out the old one and then get the new one down in there. The bosses are close to one edge of the actuator, and they should be turned closest to the front of the truck. Plug in the wiring first, then lower the assembly down so that the uppermost set of bosses (closest to the plunger) is what will engage back into the metal bracket. I get the one closest to the interior of the vehicle in its bracket hole first, then tilt and pry to get the outer side into its bracket. Make sure it locks in there good. Finally, get the lower part of the pushrod into the plastic tip of the actuator. That tip swivels around so that it is easy to get it into position last. Be sure to re-secure the bolts that you removed when loosening the window track. Carefully put all the door panels/trim/switches back in and try it all out. So great to have working door locks!
B521 For 98-02 Honda Accord Exterior Outside Door Handle Beige YR-508M Front L

Perfect fit. Install is straight forward but here’s some tricks
This was a perfect fit for front driver side of my beige/gold 2000 Honda Accord EX. Several good videos on YouTube guide through the process. The color is just slightly different than my car, sort of silver. But close enough to not be too noticeable and doesn’t bother me a bit. Some things I learned: There is a white electronic ‘switch’ that mounts on the back of the lock cylinder with one screw. Simply unscrew it and let it hang there out of the way. The lock cylinder has an actuator rod attached with a difficult plastic retainer: don’t bother removing that rod. Once it’s free from the handle just let it hang there! The handle is held from the inside by a metal bracket and two 10mm bolts. Take out the bolts. Leave the bracket in there, it has a bundle of wires attached to it that will hold it there, let it hang there. Saves a lot of time! The tricky part is you need to pull downwards on the metal retaining clip (horseshoe-shaped) that holds the lock cylinder into the old handle before you undo the bracket. It was the trickiest part of this deal until I found the proper tool. A thin, long handled needle nose pliers. It’s a bit of a blind operation. Once you clasp the clip, pull straight down and the cylinder is free. Leaving everything hanging makes it super easy to swap out the handle and button it all back up! Leave the new cylinder clip in place on the new handle, and once you have the handle installed you simply push the lock cylinder into it firmly and it will snap into place.

Great color match, rear handle is somewhat challenging to replace due to door design
The handle fit well and seems sturdy. The color perfectly matches my beige 2000 Honda Accord. There are some good YouTube videos to help through replacement. There are several parts that need to be removed in the door to get access to the bolts - specifically the lock actuator, the white rod guard and the door latch mechanism (loosen the screw bolts and then simply maneuver it down and out of the way - don’t have to take it all apart from the rods!) You’re going to drop a few bolts into the door. Have a cheap extendable magnetic fetch tool at the ready! It’s a fiddly install but if you are somewhat handy it is doable!
