Battery didn't work - ?wrong battery

I needed a replacement for a GP192 battery. This replacement battery did not work. The old battery made my thermometer come on briefly (so it was old, but the themometer worked) but with the new battery, the thermometer did not even come on. The chart on the back does not list GP 192 as an option ---A192, and GP92A was listed. I think I was sent the wrong battery?
