Asus Zenbook UX301 Laptop QWERTY English Keyboard Assembly * 0KNB0-362AUS00 *
    Aug 16, 2016
Ad says "pulled from notebook", but was sealed in mfg bag & new in every way. Solves faulty key problem
Getting parts for the UX301LA is very difficult. This high end Asus Zenbook (ultrabook) is still sold at a few retailers, but it has not generated an aftermarket parts following and Asus did not manufacture sufficient quantity of the few mechanical parts. Fortunately, Sopris seems to have a trove of new Zenbooks which they disassemble for piecemeal part sales. The keyboard that I received from them (part# 0KNB0-362AUS00) is only available from one other source. That one is twice the price and shipped from China). Like a few others who have posted to youtube or support forums, I have dead keys in near-vertical line down my keyboard: 7, 8, U, I, H and B keys. Often, keyboard problems are related to seating of the flat ribbon cables. But not in my case. I tried cleaning and reseating the keyboard connector to no avail. I also checked the individual sensors below the key caps. These still made generated a keystroke (as I expected... a problem affecting a clearly defined pattern is unlikely to be mechanical). The replacement keyboard from Sopris solved the problem. The problem may have been a faulty logic chip on the keyboard or it could have been a separation to one conductor at the keyboard-end of the connector. Either way, it's great to free myself from carrying around Bluetooth keyboards that are bulkier than the PC itself. If you are uncomfortable working in the very confined space of a super-skinny Ultrabook, find a college geek. I found someone to install the new keyboard for $20. But when I saw how difficult it was to access the underside of the keyboard, I gave him a big tip. More typically, working within this model would cost $40~60 (or $150 at a retail store). Sopris solved my problem quickly, easily, and at a fraction of the anticipated cost.
2x Key Fob for Chevy 2010-2017 Equinox Sonic GMC Terrain Keyless Entry Remote
    May 10, 2017
Indistinguishable from OEM fob; one exception
These GM key transmitters are identical to the original in quality appearance and even range. The only difference that I could find is that a Chevy logo was not press-melted into the back of the unit. (But even genuine GM replacements are sometimes sold without this branding)... I did not deduct stars for incorrect programming information supplied by a link on a card included with the key FOBs. Instructions for recent model Chevys are missing or in some cases wrong. Not to worry. Google to the rescue. A few websites claim that you will need to 2 original key fobs to reprogram. Not true! Only one is needed. Even if you don't have any, there are more complex instructions for proceeding with none.
    New HP Pavilion 15-cc610ms 15.6'' FHD Touchscreen Laptop i5-8250U 8GB 1TB Win10
    Jun 20, 2019
Great value: Well-built Windows laptop with FHD touchscreen, good CPU, copious storage
The 15-cc610ms is a surprisingly good value on a well-built Windows laptop with a reasonably good processor (8th gen core i5 is in the middle of Intel's mainstream lineup). The 15-cc610ms has a bright, glossy FHD touch-screen that looks terrific and works flawlessly. With a 1TB hard drive, you are unlikely feel a need to increase local storage. The notbook has a fan, but is typically very quiet. I have loaded my laptop with Office Professional Plus and more than 200 applications, often using 10 or 15 apps at once. I also have used it for CPU-intensive processes such as video transcoding. If I had any complaint, it would the the lack of quick response on switching be many open windows, steart bar tasks and browser tabs. With a Core i5 (rather than the beefier i7, and only 8GB of internal memory, it can feel a bit sluggish when multitasking. Additionally, at this price point, don't expect to find an ultralight, zero-bezel, featherweight notebook. This model is considerably larger than the actual screen with a bezel of 1 inch at the bottom and about 3/4 inch along the top and sides. Value: As of June 2019, this model discounts for about $475~500. That's a pretty good value. If you were fortunate enough to purchase shortly after introduction (Black Friday 2018), then you got an exceptional deal. At that time it was briefly offerred for $399. At either price, it is rare to find a new, full-HD, touchscreen notebook from a reputable manufacturer with 1TB and 8GB.
