WeatherTech fails....again
I purchased these window deflectors for my 2016 Audi four door sedan and installed as per instructions and left them in place with windows up for 5 days (which is longer than suggested) so as to fully "seat" them in the window opening. What I noticed when I first installed them was they were immediately creating issues for my windows closing properly but I figured after the few days of being installed with windows up they would settle in. Well on my first time out, I put all four windows down about half way to enjoy the spring air, and don't you know it, one then the other rear shade caught some wind and blew right off the car. Lost. Oh well. So upon ending my trip, I went to put the front windows up and both were hitting the in channel window deflectors making a terrible cracking noise and also preventing my windows from auto-up-ing as they are designed to do. This was my second attempt with this product the first being on a BMW M5. On that car they never fit right and the drivers door unit flew off after just a week and the free replacement they sent blew off a month later. That set also affected the performance of my power windows, and was simply discarded after the second blow off. In addition to the total failure of the in channel concept, they flange that goes up into the window is so thin (to theoretically allow for the least interference of the window glass which will be sharing the space) that it is very prone to break while installing. They are clearly NOT made of lexan which is very much stronger that whatever these are made of. Buy the kind that stick onto the outside of the car if they are available. Also have had bad luck twice with their digital floor liners that are made from the cheapest plastic possible and curl up at the edges and most definitely do not have a custom fit as advertised. On the total floor mat failure I sent the CEO a polite but informative letter with pictures of the curling mats (Bob MacNeil the CEO used to have a contact me email in the ads that I used....but they no longer display that) explaining that the way they were designed was totally flawed and that as a result the mats do not hug the carpet "walls" and allow things as large as a cell phone to fall behind them, let alone small debris. And in the Pickups I had them in you would actually get tripped up on them upon entering the truck they curled so much. Weather Tech is only good at advertising...not execution.

How to get the factory gmc insert off
Ordered this grill insert for my 2016 Denali to get rid of the obnoxious RED gmc logo on my grill. It arrived with three official looking 3M backed G M C letter cut outs the same size as the GMC on the grill. There were no instructions of any kind included so no idea what they were for so I trashed them. As it turned out there was clearly no need for them so no big deal. As far as the insert itself, it seems well made and of good quality. It is not OEM. The big tip I have relating to the purchase of one of these grill inserts relates to how to install it. It took some analyzing and viewing the procedure to remove the grill so as to access the 5 clips that hold it to the grill. I watched a video on you tube on how to access/remove the grill and concluded that would be an insane undertaking. What I came up with in order to get the factory one off I think was clearly the best way so read on....
Find a long minimum 18” flat head screw driver. Longer the better. Small tip also key as a large one will not work for this. Take the screw driver and inset through the latch opening and place on the center tine of the clip. Holding the screwdriver firm give it a medium hard “pop” with your free hand. This will break the clip. Repeat 4 more times and it will free the old/original one. The new one literally will then install in 5 seconds. The old one will be broken but better than spending hours to remove the grill. Now that it’s installed it looks great. Now need to do the rear...
