Great box set for Cagney & Lacey fans
3 of 3 found this helpful During its six year run on CBS, Tyne Daly won four Best Actress EMMY Awards as Best Dramamtic Actress and Sharon Gless won the award two years in a row. Thats an amazing and well-deserved feat! These four TV movies were made over a two-year period several years after the series had ended its run. They have the same feel as the outstanding TV series. The TV show was always more about the lives of its characters. Sure, there was always a crime to be solved, but the real strength was in the relationship between the two lead actresses and these four TV movies prove that the chemestry between Daly and Gless is still as stronga s ever. Each DVD contains a different 20-minute interview with one member of the cast or crew (Daly, Gless, producer Barney Rosenweitz and co-creator Barbara Corday) an each interview is honest, straightforward, entertaining and illuminating. I hope that the release of these four films will lead to the release on DVD of the entire series.

Outstanding Reference Guide
One of the very best books on the market about film noir. The author/editors are supremely knowledgable on these films and write entertaining, thoughtful reviews of hundreds of films (and hundreds more that are listed in the appendixes with credits but no synopsis). If you don't find a film in the main body of the book, you can easily use the index and can usually find it listed (and critiqued) in one of the many essays in the appendixes.
Among the useful appendixes: a chronology of film noirs (arranged by date, starting in 1927 with UNDERWORLD thru 1976's TAXI DRIVER), There are noi-specif filmographies for directors, actors, composers, writers, cinematographers, producers and studios. There's also a listing of neo-noir films from 1966 through 1992.
You can't go wrong with this outstanding reference guide.

My cat loves the chews
My cat loves the chews. I haven't noticed if her limp is any better yet, but she loves the taste!
