Canon EOS M5 24.2MP Mirrorless Digital Camera Body #190
Jun 26, 2019
Pros/Cons
Pros: Small footprint, good set of dials and switches along with touch screen compliment/same function. Very fast AF under good lighting conditions. Good for single/multiple shooting. Good for travel photography, Street photography, and casual shooting. Cons: Video-record button easily accidentally trip and had to reassign to the M-fn button to avoid this. No full-articulation of screen; it folds downward and not sideways Therefore, cannot be used with a tripod. Cannot flip back screen so as to protect it. Poor low-light AF regardless of lens. HDMI port is too small causing difficulties with using a laptop for viewing. Does not support 4K video as does the M50 and several other make/model cameras of the same category. Choice of lenses of the EF-M mount lenses not as good as the Canon EF/EF-S, Therefore, have to use an adapter for EF/EF-S and faster lenses, which are large and heavy. Overall: Good small camera for small hands. It's not a pro or semi-pro camera such as the new R/RP series cameras. I would recommend for causal photo usage, family vacations and around the house. I shoot weddings and would prefer the 7D Mark II for that type of photography. And for videos... get another camera with better viewing abilities (full articulating screen) and 4K, such as a Sony, Nikon, or Fuji.

Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens - Graphite

Pros/Cons
Pros: Light weight, small, good balance with M-series cameras, sharp focus, 1.5 foot macro, good zoom range Cons: Poor low-light AF, No Manual focus option, Made in Malaysia, cheap plastic feel, plastic mount (not durable). If there was a lens that was faster, such as f/2.8-4, same zoom, had a manual focus switch, and metal mount, I would get it over this lens I have seen the long-term results of plastic mount lenses and likely to become brittle over time and temperature.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Smartphone AT&T Sprint T-Mobile Verizon or Unlocked

Best phone I've ever used
Prior to getting this phone I had an S4 and a J7. The S7 Edge is much better than these, with the exception of not easily changing out the battery. So I acquired a battery case and use it all the time as it allows for the life of battery in the phone to be extended. Transitioning over was relatively easy with Samsung's app that allows for all apps from the old phone to be transferred via wifi or direct connect. Everything, including my contact list was transferred over to the newly acquired S7 Edge. I am not a fan of iPhone/apple, but prefer the ease of use with the Samsung phones and the android operating system. Security is also better than the older Samsung phones. The finger touch identification is great. One would have to use my password or the finger ID to get access to my phone.
