A Great Help to Preachers!
This Navarre version of the Pentateuch is very good. The English text is the Revised Standard Version, with the Latin translation too. But you can find that anywhere. Where Navarre shines, and this volume is no exception, is in the footnotes. They are not scholarly, such as you find in the Oxford Bible; instead, they're pastoral. They're like listening to a good homily on the verses they refer to. So, this book is perfect for ministers of all kinds who have to prepare a sermon or homily every week. Navarre gives spiritual depth to the text, not scholarly gloss, which has its value, but is often too technical to be of use in drafting a sermon for public consumption at Sundy services. I like this book!

Lots of Verbs, Low Price
This is the first edition of Barron's 501 Latin Verbs. It's quite a bit cheaper than the Second Edition and covers the same 501 verbs, conjugated in all the tenses. The only differences: the Second Edition has a lengthy introduction and highlights the most used 55 Latin verbs in the text as they appear alphabetically. For me, that's not really worth the extra cost. The first edition is about a third of the cost of the second and is a good value.

Pace and Price Make the Count a Winner
The story line is gripping -- the hero Dantes is at first on top, then loses everything, vows revenge, and gets it! Up, down, up again. Fast-paced adventure-revenge story, by the master Dumas. And this edition by Pocket is inexpensive and a value.
