Tried it, Love it, Highly recommend it
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this some months ago but I wanted to wait until I had tried it before writing a review. I have a convertible car that I only drive in fair weather, about 1,000 miles a year, and it seems that every time I want to drive it, the battery needs a jump. I have to bring another of my vehicles around to jump start it and that's annoying. Before purchasing the NOCO GB40, I had 3 concerns. 1) I was concerned that it would not have enough juice to jump my battery the way I jumped it from another running vehicle. But I hooked it up, waited 30 seconds and the totally dead battery turned over - as fast as a jump from my other running vehicle. 2) I was concerned that the battery leads looked a little short. But in attaching it, they were just right and there was no problem reaching the battery terminals on my standard type battery. 3) I was concerned that the clamp ends looked a little wide and wondered if they'd make it difficult to get good purchase around the terminals, the existing battery leads and the tight spaces around each terminal. No problem. The clamp ends were not too wide to clamp around the battery terminals and they were tight, but not too tight to make clamping and unclamping anything but easy. In addition to it passing my 3 major concerns, I can also tell you that the built in flashlight is very bright and helps you attach the cable ends to the battery terminals. It is super convenient to have it attached to the correct end of the unit, now there's no more bringing my own flashlight to the task, placing it somewhere in the engine bay or positioning it somehow to light the work at hand, nor worrying it would fall into or through the engine compartment. I can also tell you that it only took about 2-3 hours to fully charge it from my computer's USB 2.0 port. It is compact, very nicely styled, solid and of excellent build quality and it fits into it's little carry sack quite easily. These lithium battery jumpers are very popular, as when I had to take that battery to my local auto supply store to do a warranty replacement, they were using one similar to it. But theirs was not as nice, it had no flashlight, and they were asking $125 vs. the $100 that I paid for my NOCO. If my other cars needed it, i would buy one for each car. But as it is, only the convertible has the problem because it is driven so infrequently. But I love it and I would highly recommend it.
