Manitou: Sacred Landscape of New England's Native ... by Dix, Byron E. Paperback

Title is Posh and Pretentious....like a doctoral thesis...not likely to scream "buy me" and learn something you never knew before"
Topic is compelling Stone Structures of great age, Many connections to Stone Henge astronomy etc. Well written, could use more and bigger pictures though...for someone interested in the ancient cultures ...no one knows who and when built these... a great mystery there... excellent book to make you think and postulate...They have much to do with the sun and moon....not indian forts or root cellars as they are promoted. Little is written about them and even less known or appreciated...Cant put it Down! The cover of the book is poor choice...interior of one of the stone beehive chambers with the 12 ton ceiling stones would have been more compelling..

Makes you want to pick it up and start reading
Transport yourself back dear reader to the 1920's and be drawn into several stories written at that time..... No they are not like Agatha Christie or Dashal Hammet.... the main character is flawed, the language sometimes harsh and brutal...... This is the genuine mystery stories appreciated by a generation before television and for whom the clamor of radio in its infancy held no allure The author happens to have been the father of Madeleine Lengle, who penned A Wrinkle in Time

Catchy would make me what to know more.
America 1962 is a long way from 2021. It has become one of my "watch a few times a year" list. ...like it is written by son of the driver who knew Shirley well..a very believable premise for a movie about someone who was one of America's greatest musicians and about whom little is written or known.... The movie is not "preachy" or judging of the characters ..,,,,I feel it wwlls a very good compelling story very well.. Every time I watch it, something else is revealed.
