Inexpensive road to mulch for winter gardens
Especially where perennials might be exposed to warming soils followed by killing frosts, as often happens in the early spring here in Minnesota, it is important to cover them with a layer of mulch. This is to keep the ground cold, too cold for sprouting, not to keep the ground warm during winter. Leaves are good mulch. But whole leaves get flat and matted, depriving the perennials of air and water when they start to grow. You get more rot. more leaf mold. So you need to chop your leaves. Dedicated leaf choppers are large and hard to store.
This product does a good job chopping dry leaves Wet leaves tend to clog it especially if you use in in an upright position. Clogs are sometimes hard to clear. My other complaint is that the bag fills too fast and is kind of a pain to empty. But it is really the only inexpensive way to chop leaves for mulching gardens.

Dry and stays clean
Clean ride is just that - it's a wax that goes on wet, dries into a waxy-looking substance, and does not get dirty like petroleum based lubes. Two problems: the wax can build us and look kind of nasty, little blobs of white stuff that just might get more gooey when cold, and it mostly washes off if you ride in the rain.

Better than alternatives
Does the job. Maintains RPMs while cutting where others slow down (I'm on my third). Rechargeable is a good thing since the other two always needed a battery when I needed the trimmer.
These reviews always seem premature. The test of the device is whether it stays sharp with high RPMs into the future. Another plus: This brand allows one to buy just the "business end", with the blades, so that one can replace the blades when they stop working.
