You can still make use of these legacy cards if you're on a budget like me.
I'm trying to squeeze that last bit of life out of my Foxconn NF4SK8AA 8EKRS Socket 939 based system. I dual boot Xubuntu 12.04-1 64 bit and Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. The addition of another MSI NX8600GTT2D256EOC in SLi and going from an Athlon 64 4000+ to an X2 4400 have increased my systems performance quite noticeably while multitasking. Needless to say this has greatly enhanced my gaming experience as well. I can max out all of my games video preferences now @ 1280x1024. I know.... A lot of you are thinking - "Bite the bullet and move into the 21st century with an AM3 or Core Ix system." I don't have the resources right now. But I can use these two video cards in my next build until I can upgrade even further.

Just WOW! Breathed new life into my MSI Z77A-G45 based machine

Perfect upgrade for your Inspirion E1505. Read on:
Perfect upgrade for your Inspirion E1505!! I replaced the E1505's motherboard with this one, I installed a Core 2 Duo T2700 2.0 GHz processor. I also added the 128MB (+128 shared for 256MB) Radeon X1400 video card and 4GB of PC 5300 DDR2 RAM. Yes, It will take 4 Gig of RAM in spite of the documentation. You'll be missing the 128MB of RAM for the graphics card. I'm running 64bit Xubuntu 14.04.3 and it is super snappy!
You WILL need a video card if you use this motherboard. It does NOT have a video cable header. Look for either the Radeon X1300, X1400 or nVidia GeForce Go 7300 cards for this board.
