Valdez is Coming
1 of 1 found this helpful Elmore Leonard has written more good books than almost any contemporary writer. But critics tend to give his westerns short shrift. In "Valdez is Coming," Robert Valdez, a frontier sheriff, sets out to right a wrong and when he meets resistance, he reverts to a person he used to be. And all hell breaks loose. This book starts a little slow but it's easily the best thriller I've read this year (and I read maybe seventy-five a year). Once Valdez gets mad, this book takes off like a rocket. This would make a spectacular movie, with Clint Eastwood directing.
