Beware of buying an old model.

I have owned three of these over the years. My last one stopped working after I purchased the lifetime map upgrade and downloaded the software. So I purchased a new one and called Garmin with a question about transferring the lifetime maps from old unit to the new one. I was informed that the couldn’t do that as it stays with the device. They also recommended that I do not purchase a new map for this 11 year old model as they know the updates are causing performance issues on the older models. To Garmin’s credit they offered to send me a free Drive Smart 51 for my troubles. I’m stuck with a unit now that has outdated maps. I liked these small units as it fits well on my motorcycle and bicycle handle bars with the Garmin accessory mount. It also fits in my pocket easily. I wish I had called Garmin before buying this and taking it out of the plastic packaging. I would give it 5 stars if there was not an issue with the map updates.
