    2013-2014-2015 Macbook A1465 A1466 A1398 A1502 SSD USB 3.0 External Case

    Works... MOST of the time!
This is a great item that has been incredibly useful to us since receiving it. Of the compatible hard drives we've attempted to use with it, about 80% have come up - all of which were pulled from Apple products, many of which had suffered liquid spills in their immediate past. PROS: The case is high quality metal and is very rugged, but it seems much more designed for permanent installation of a single SSD rather than how we're using it, which is as a drive adapter for data retrieval and recovery. When it does work, it works fast and easily. This adapter has worked perfectly both with Mac and PC systems, although all drives were from Mac computers. CONS: A couple of the fully-compatible SSDs we've connected have not come up at all with this adapter, but then are able to boot perfectly in their original host system or an equivalent unit. I am not sure why this is. Also, this requires a separate power line AND a USB 3.0 connection for data. That wouldn't normally be a big issue, but the connections for both ports are pretty weak, meaning that I absolutely do expect the power port to break at some point in the future and I hope that it's repairable. Finally, the USB 3.0 connection uses the micro-usb port style rather than the MUCH more durable USB 3.0 Standard-B connection which I would have preferred. Overall I'm incredibly thankful to have this product, but it was extremely expensive and I've since seen some others around for less. Since I paid a full $120 for this, I would have liked the ports to be more durable so that I can expect it to last longer, but that's about it. For now, I'm just going to be very careful when plugging and unplugging cords from the device.
