Review of AMD/ATI Radeon HD4870 1gb.
This card is an excellent example of how AMD/ATI are interaction with Nvidia in the market for Performance vs Price.
This card is extremely fast and for the price it is well worth it. a few notes to point out by comparing to other cards:
the model number of the cards is not always a linear expression of performance, (also the price as we can see with this card) for example the Radeon HD 5770, this is a excellent card and has a similar price tag however the memory bus on it is 128 wide as opposed to the 4870 256, this may seem like a small detail but it provides a significant jump in performance (see link below)
when comparing the 4870 to the 4850 (you figure just one step down must be more/less the same) there is also a significant gain to be had (see links below)
with the 1GB version high resolution gaming and massive high resolutions textures wont be an issue.
i have this card with 2GB DDR2, & Intel Core Duo E7400 and it FLYS. i am able to play COD Modern Warfare 2, Crysis, Farcry 2. without problems and great frame rates, HIGHLY recommend this card, EXCELLENT CARD AND GREAT PRICE
