TRUHART SPORT SHOCKS AND LOWERING SPRINGS SET FOR HONDA CIVIC 1992-2000
    Sep 08, 2017
    Truhart shocks are NOT garbage!!
There are very few customer reviews online for truhart shocks, so I figured I would contribute. I've had truhart shocks paired with tein s techs on my 2013 subaru brz for 13000 miles, no issues, I have truhart shocks on my 08 acura tl for 5000 miles paired with tein s tech springs, no issues, I had truhart shocks paired with tein s techs on my 2000 accord coupe for well over 50k miles, no issues and the ride was well beyond oem comfort, and finally I have truhart shocks paired with truhart lowering springs on my 97 civic coupe. 2 1/2 drop. No issues. As far as I can tell, these are quality, super cheap, and comfortable shocks. To anyone thinking you MUST spend a fortune to have a decent ride quality and reliability, in a lowered daily driver you are just wrong and I highly reccommend truhart short stroke or sport shocks, paired with any name brand progressive spring. For 300 bucks you cannot fault truhart shocks. Period. If they were 500 bucks for a set of 4, having experienced the dampening characteristics and quality on multiple vehicles over 6 years, I would still choose truhart shocks over koni yellows. These shocks are underrated as it gets imo. They're shunned in every honda acura forum as garbage and I can't figure out why. I can't be the only person to have taken their chances on these shocks skeptical of their price point. Especially in the broke a** honda community. All I can assume is that any issues people may have had, were down to installer error. Don't gun the top nut down with the car on jack stands. Save all the top nuts for when the car is down on its wheels. Torque all other suspension components down preloaded using a jack or deadman on a lift. Its called clocking your bushings so they're not fighting the weight of your car and tear after having destroyed ride quality for x amount of miles. Anyway, truhart shocks are an amazing bang for buck. If you decide based on this review to "take your chances" on em, regardless of what you're driving, leave your feedback after 1000 or so miles. Prove me wrong. I'm not sponsored or paid by truhart or anybody else for that matter. I'm getting nothing out of this review. I just know how these shocks perform, and feel as though truhart as a company deserves more positive feedback because their products are so widely disregarded as trash on forums based on nothing but the price tag. Forget the price tag. The shocks are good. They fit properly, they come with bumpstops, theyre packaged nicely, they last for years and years lowered 2 inches or more, and they are as comfortable as oem when paired with tein s tech springs on multiple platforms. That's a fact.

It comes warped and the design is flawed
I had to shave the end of the tray on the bottom so it sits flush in the cavity. Than, because the mold has 1/4 inch deep edges all the way around, I had to use 4 layers of double sided molding trim tape, before it actually made contact with the dash cavity and stayed in place. Other than that, the clear or gel coat has pin holes in it. In the end, it doesnt look bad, doesnt rattle, and I'm satisfied that I have it. But If I spend $100 on a product I know cost maybe $15 to manufacture, the design is sub par, and quality control isn't even what you've paid for.. what have you paid for? An inconvenience. It's not like you can reach you phone from the driving position anyway. Just avoid the product.
