I'm no expert, but...
...this thing is an enormous upgrade in every regard from my previous Target-bought light, which died at the first sign of moisture. Seems pretty water-tight, though I haven't immersed it. VERY bright, wide beam (potentially blinding if not so well focused), attention-getting LED flashers, stupid-easy mount/dismount, long-lasting USB-charged LIon battery...haven't tried it with a USB3 external power source on the road yet, but mostly because the battery hasn't gone out unexpectedly (still exploring the limits on that).
Never thought I'd spend $40 on a bike light, but well worth the loot, IMHO.

Works just like the one that bad batteries ate, because it's the exact same thing. No complaints, no compliments; direct replacement.
