Best investment I've made in years!
I bought my Roomba because I detest vacuuming, but with two cats in the house, that's a problem. This little device is wonderful. You just charge it up, push the button, and it roams all over the house, cleaning up. It doesn't vacuum the way you would; it goes left, sideways, down, and around in what seems like an erratic way, but it goes back around the area again and again eventually to cover it all. It turns when it encounters an obstruction and has a bumper on the front to protect your furniture and such. The most amazing feature, though, is the cliff sensor. The Roomba won't fall down your stairs! It senses any drop-off and stops and turns away. You can even use the Roomba on your sofa and it won't fall off! (It comes so close that you will be sure it's going to fall, but you'll be wrong.) It will miss some things but not much. The only maintenance you have to do is remove and clean the 2 brushes regularly (easy to do), empty the collection tray regularly (very simple), and occasionally replace the filter (not often). Everyone I know wants to get one now.
