No denying their musicianship
Probably the best produced of the first four, which makes up for some of the filler tracks and the over exposed inescapable “don’t stand so close to me”
They were at their peak as a unit at this point and very tight after extended touring. Musically not their finest hour - I leave that title to Regatta de Blanc but nonetheless needs to be included in any fan’s collection. The Japanese versions are overpriced unfortunately.

Great performance lacking power
well packaged but cover design could have been better - quality of recording was not as good as expected… Elton’s performance was clear but tends you eclipse the power of that rhythm section… Nigel’s powerful drums lack in bottom end as does Dee’s Bass… worth the price but don’t expect the standard to be as high as 11/7/70 Live recording

A classic revamped
1 of 1 found this helpful This was one of the first LP’s I owned. Always loved it. Recorded in 2 days and has stood the test of time. The two Live recordings are reasonable quality(Montreaux superior) marred only by Ozzy forgetting pretty much all the lyrics. Highlights are the booklet and the quad mix which features a longer version of Planet Caravan and reveals more than one bass guitar track on the recording. The mini album sleeves are also a nice touch. The poster would have been nicer in black and white over the washed out colours. All in all a must for hardcore fans. Can’t wait for the same treatment of the first album and Master of Reality which in my opinion are their best works. Highly recommended.
