Resident Evil 2 N64 version
1 of 1 found this helpful This was originally a playstation game, so its clearly a port with some additions.
Like being able to randomize the items through out the game for greater replay value.
Only thing missing in this version is HARD mode.
Its a pitty if youre an hardcore gamer.
The good stuff is that you dont have to switch CD/GDROM like you had to do on playstation or dreamcast.
Note that there are also a gamecube, and a PC port, which I choose to not include for inferiour reasons.
The other good stuff is that they have fitted this game into 1 512mb cartrige. (64mb compressed rom size)
The sound and intro movies quality is affected by this, but thats it.
Everything else is perfect.
Playing this on an RGB modded N64 console, with expansion pack makes this port looking superb.
I say if, you can live without the hardmode its the N64 version, which is a playstation port, that has been refined.
If you want Hard mode, among high quality movies.
Play the dreamcast version using the VGA box.
I think the dreamcast version is better then the PC version, although its based on it.
N64 version is cool to collect, since its the only resident evil ( non-held ) that is cartrige made.
This was also meant to be a game that should build up the popularity for Resident evil 0, that was first announst for N64.
It later got remade for the gamecube instead.

Doom 64 Review.
One of the Best FPS games for N64.
It has a good 64 frames per second refresh rate, and very good graphics for N64 standars, even though it does not use expansion pak.
Its spooky, and gory.
Very few frames movements for enemies, but I think it suits the game better.
Only complain is a dark pit in a stage were its ilogically hard to survive and climp up.
And the last boss is to hard.
No unlockable features, no look up, and no Randnet keyboard+mouse support.
Its a buy, not a rent.
Go fetch it now

D2 usa dreamcast (impossible to ripp & out of print)
1 of 1 found this helpful For the 1st this game is pretty rare and usa is the only eng speak version.
(never released in EU pal)
Another thing is that its near impossible to make a back up of it cause you cant downsample the game enough to make it fit on 4x 700 MB CD because its a full 4x GDrom.
The real sequal to D for psx and saturn. (not Enemy zero for saturn that many considered to be the sequal)
It have the classic click n go system and some new cool stuff.
It also combines rpg and shoot em up at the same time and of course some resident evil feeling in to it.
Ill say worth adding to the DC before its away for good.
havent succed in running it in the emulator yet due to its a big GDrom so get it!! Titan
