OK to avoid buying new remote. But not as effective as anticipated.
The sticky plastic fit over the buttons of the remote. But the remote case did not close as tightly as before, and several of the plastic clips that hold the remote together broke off while removing the remote's case. After inserting the sticky repair kit and after using the remote for a couple of weeks, the remote has to be much closer than before to the Bose unit to work.
