Universal Transmission Clutch Drum Spring Compressor Tool for GM - 700-R4
    Apr 15, 2021
Good for Home use, not ideal for Professional Use
It does exactly what it says it will do and works well enough, but it's obvious that this is made from only the finest of chineseium. The welds are strong but poor visual quality. The treads need to be better cleaned, and the arm supports need to be beveled and polished to allow smoother on and off transition. The arm support also has trouble pivoting until it is under the presser pushing down on the spring packs, making it a little clunky to use in smaller areas. But even with all of this, it does exactly what it is supposed to, is half the price of the cheapest name brand tool, and worked well for what I had to do. I'd recommend buying this if you're a do it yourself kinda guy who wants to rebuild his own unit, and maybe one or two more. If you're a shop or a startup looking for a fast and easy tool to keep the labor costs down, avoid this and buy a sturdier unit. It worked well on my THM2004-R clutch retaining springs, but I'm not sure how it would do on a heavier duty unit such as a 4L80e or TH400 without a little modification.
