I build 1911's.
There are literally hundreds of 1911 parts makers...we have to decide which parts require the strength of a steel ball-bearing, this area doesn't. If set up properly, main spring housings do not take any battering, only spring compression. This unit has internal parts, already at the size needed for "full cock" position on a 1911, with the correct spring tension. It's light aluminum is perfect for conceal carry and the strength needed for many hours of use. It's length is spot on for the "Officers" model [flush at the bottom and no interference with the grip safety and precision fit on the sides]. This was a good find at a great price.

This is rare.
The idea of spending at least 85 bucks for something that's made out of metal [and I say, why does it have to be metal], is ridiculous. We're not talking about the ruggedness required for full blown combat. Maybe we'll never have to protect our home from invasion, more likely we'll shoot our AR at the range, either way, for ten bucks you've got the identical polymer twin. This is lightweight, operates exactly the same as the expensive metal [just as tight] and holds the cost of your AR build down to a minimum. This is a good find!

Builders dream
Drops into a 3" Officers set up...the large spring may have to be shortened with a Dremel cutter for function, but the piece is a good buy...better than 60 bucks for some other brands.
