Connectivity to die for

This external hard drive was one of the best purchases I've made yet! My absolute favorite thing about this is that it has great connectivity capabilities. Firewire 400, Firewire 800, and USB 2.0 make this thing able to connect to my modern AND legacy machines. I am also a huge fan of the pretty spacious 320GB of space. For my purposes, that should last me a good long time.If you're looking for a decent external hard drive that includes not only USB, but also the venerable Firewire connection standards, this is a must-have product!

Convenient and simple set up

This Firewire hub allows me to connect my old Power Mac G4 that has the venerable Firewire 400 standard to two additional legacy external hard drives. Since I have the computer facing to the back behind the desk, I can't easily access the ports, so this hub allows for easier connection. The hub is reliable, compact, and if you're connecting it to an old computer that came standard with Firewire and has an old OS on it (such as my Power Mac running Mac OS 9.2.2), this is as easy as plug and play. You just take the included cable, plug it in to an available port on the machine and you're off to the races. If it's a new computer that you added a Firewire card to, this will still work, but you'll need an external 12-volt power adapter (sold separately) and it would be best, if you're running Windows to use Windows 7 since that OS makes Firewire connectivity a bit easier. It will still be possible on Windows 10, but you'll have to look at one of the many Google articles on how to enable the Firewire support. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Dreams really do come true

I can't even begin to put into words how much I love this computer. The deign is simply gorgeous, the operating system that I put on here (Mac OS 9) is so much fun to play with and is a total blast from the past, but the speed of the interface must be experienced to be believed, everything worked flawlessly right from the start. I was at least expecting 1 problem to arise, but to my delight, not one ever has. I've actually been using this to watch a lot of videos on. Now yes, I do have to export them to a worse resolution and picture quality to make it playable, but that to me is all part of the fun. This is my dream come true, I have been wanting one of these good old Power Mac G4's for years (mainly to get native Mac OS 9 support, but also since it's totally awesome), and it's been even better than I had anticipated! P.S. I rated it as fast, and that's true if you're running a copy of OS 9, OS X really can bring this machine to a crawl. But, if you want OS 9, this is one of the fastest ways to run it
