A Zombie Fiction Lover's dream read!
Maberry offers such a humanitarian view of zombies, but gives the reader such a thrill ride through the survivor's eyes. First Night is revealed through a series of stories, myths, and legends. Compared to the 1st novel in this series, Rot & Ruin, Maberry allows the reader to connect more personally with one of the stories' main characters-Nix. The addition of her journal also gives the reader deep insight into how confusing the zombies are. I love this story! Currently, I'm about half way through, and I can't put it down! I would highly recommend this story to any person that enjoys great plot, memorable characters, and superb zombie-action fight scenes.

    Decent Gore - Shaky Plotline
Gore = 5 Stars Plot = 3 Stars Comedy = 3 1/2 Stars If one is looking for classic zombie gore, then this movie does deliver. Reminiscent of Zombieland, the comedic relief offered throughout this story is pretty funny and unexpected at times. I enjoyed it, and I'm glad to have it as part of my collection.

Nice plot, incredible dialogue, and awesome directing = Must see!
The first time I saw this movie, I turned the channel on it because of all of the excessive dialogue. But, the second time around - loved it! The telling of the 2 stories and it's directorial differences in both really made me view Quentin Tarantino as a force to be reckoned with. (yeah, I didn't really care for Pulp Ficition)
