Item was brand new still had the protective plastic on.
I don`t like the idea that now most all electronic companies are taking the buttons off of the units themselves, and relying so heavily on the remote control, if you loose or your remote stops working for some reason, for get about doing any settings for that movie, all you get is default settings encoded on the disc.I keep all my remotes in the plastic bags they are shipped in for safe keeping, because any liquid will destroy a remote the way the use a carbon based contact to make them work.Anyway I don`t know if this is what I was to say here but I just wanted to voice my opinion on the matter. They made us lazy now they are taking control. Twisterkart10

Hurry Up for goodness sakes
I bought this drive because I do alot of HD video work, and it take up a lot of room, but I didn`t realize that the drive was so slow, and I am running it by firewire. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to back-up a 40GB movie, I can put them on a flash drive faster. Am I doing something wrong? Should I connect it another way? Or are all of these back-up drives just slow. Anyway it is nice to have the storage room, but I guess I just need to be more patient. Twisterkart10

For the X-Ray ability
Hello People, Well this camcorder to me is great for two things 1) You can use it for X-ray vision and 2)it does very well outside during the day time and of course you have the Super Cat`s Eye for dark places even complete darkness which I think is neat BUT this camcorder isn`t worth a crap for filming inside I have tried every setting on this thing to get a good indoor picture and this camcorder just doesn`t perform well inside and if you use the Gamma feature to brighten the picture it distorts and the colors are off so it depends on what you want this camera for if you want night vision and X-ray vision this is the camcorder for you If you want to record Jr.`s Birthday party at grandma`s this isn`t the camcorder for you.
