Bluetooth Streaming - no coding needed
Great option to add Bluetooth for streaming audio and hands-free calling. I installed this in my 2008 BMW M3 (no iDrive or factory BT) and had previously installed a Porsche compatible version in a 2005 Porsche 911.
Installation is quite simple, just check forums like E90post or m3post or YouTube for guidance. It isn't very technical, you just need to be somewhat familiar with interior disassembly. Routing the mic cable is the most involved but a completely stealth installation as I mounted it in the factory mic location. I did use a glovebox fuse tap and although no drilling is required it does take some finesse and patience to route the cables over to the module itself near the head unit.
Once installation was complete I did not need to code the car. It automatically recognized it as a CD Changer and unit powered up so I could pair immediately. Streaming works great, starts playing your last audio source as soon as head unit powers on.
If you want to keep your factory head unit this is a pretty unbeatable value and a slick integration.
